Accept Your Offer

  • Please remember to accept your offer on or before the response deadline given on your official letter of admission.
  • 1. Log in to MyFile

    Go to yorku.ca/myfile to enter your York student number (provided in your confirmation email when you applied to York) and your date of birth.

    2. Select your program

    Once logged in, click Application Status on the left menu bar. The next screen will display the list of programs to which you have applied at York. The Next Steps column will display which programs you have been admitted to. Click Accept/Decline Offer for the program you wish to accept.

    Show additional steps for OUAC (Ontario Universities' Application Centre) These additional steps are applicable only if you applied to York through OUAC.

    3. Log in to your OUAC application

    Use the OUAC reference number listed in MyFile to log in to your OUAC application at www.ouac.on.ca .

    4. Select your program

    Once logged in, click Choices/Offers from the top menu bar. In the Admission Decision column of the program you wish to accept, click Offer or Alternate Offer. Received an alternate offer? Find out more.

    5. Accept your offer

    The following screen will display the details of the program to which you have been offered admission. Confirm that this is the correct program, select Accept from the Response options and click Save and Continue.

    6. Submit your decision

    Once you have accepted an offer, you will return to the Choices/Offer screen. On this screen, the Applicant Response column will show "Unsubmitted Acceptance" for the program you accepted. This means that you have chosen to accept this program but have not yet submitted your decision to OUAC.

    Click Save Ordered Choices at the top or bottom of the screen.

    Once you are ready to submit, click Review and Submit from the top menu bar. Review your submission and click I Verify and Agree button to accept your offer.

    Once you have successfully submitted your acceptance, you will receive a confirmation number on the following screen. Besides the confirmation number, this screen will include a summary of changes made to your application information.

    If the submission process is not completed properly and you do not immediately receive a confirmation number, your response will not be saved. If you need assistance with the OUAC application, contact OUAC by email at 101_support@ouac.on.ca or by phone at 519-823-1063.

    7. Check your status on MyFile

    The acceptance of your offer on the OUAC site will take a few days to appear on MyFile. Use MyFile to check the status of your application, view your scholarship details, apply to residence and more.
