MFA

Dance

The MA program fosters an understanding of dance in its cultural, intellectual and social contexts through combined theoretical and practical approaches; the unique MFA program is the only program in the world to offer research opportunities in both choreography and dance dramaturgy within the context of diverse contemporary dance practices.

Film

Canada’s only dedicated MFA program in Screenwriting, training students in all aspects of writing for the screen, including television and cinema. Award-wining filmmakers teach in the Production program, with access to extensive production facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. First-year courses can be in any of three streams: Production, Screenwriting or Cinema & Media Studies.

Theatre

A conservatory studio program for advanced theatre artists who wish to upgrade their skills or seek the knowledge needed to teach. Intense training provided by working theatre professionals in outstanding new facilities. Specializations: Performance; Directing; Design for Performing Arts; Collaborative Program in Theatre Directing with Canadian Stage.

Visual Arts

The MFA is a studio-centred program in which students independently develop an art practice that reflects contemporary debates in culture. In the PhD program, individually defined conceptual frameworks are explored through an integration of art works, research and writing.
