We have created a FAQ page to answer the most common questions related to COVID-19 and the impact on admissions that undergraduate applicants have asked us over the past few weeks.
At York, we recognize the value of mature applicants, reflected in the inclusion of professional work experience and previous studies when we assess your application of admission.
Am I a mature student?
The definition of a mature student can vary widely depending on self-identification, academic background and of course, age. At York, we consider a mature student to be someone who:
- Is at least 20 years old by the end of the calendar year of admission to the University;
- Has been out of full-time high school studies for at least two years or has returned to upgrade after a two-year absence;
- Has attempted less than one full year of studies at an accredited university or college; and
- Has demonstrated potential for success through academic, professional or volunteer activities and other accomplishments.
