Pre-Health Sciences Certificate at Humber College

Students of the Pre-Health Sciences Certificate at Humber College may be considered for admission to any bachelor degree program at York University. Students applying to York University after having graduated from the Pre-Health Sciences Certificate must have graduated with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B or 70%) and have met any additional program or degree specific admission requirements to be considered for admission at York University. Some programs may require a higher average. Graduates of the Pre-Health Sciences Certificate will be granted a total block of 18 transfer credits when entering any Bachelor level program at York University and will be deemed to have satisfied entrance pre-requisites or course requirements. It is important to note, that depending on the electives chosen in Pre-Health Sciences Certificate and the desired program at York University, a student may need to complete more than the minimum of 102 credits for a total of 120 credits to graduate from York University in order to meet requirements.

Graduates of the Humber College Pre-Health Sciences Certificate receive 18 transfer credits when admitted to degree studies at York University. Depending on course waivers and York University degree program chosen; students may need to complete more than 120 credits to graduate from York University.

General Arts and Science Diploma Program at Humber College

Students of the General Arts and Science Diploma Program at Humber College, who have completed all 1st and 2nd semester courses of the program with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%), may be conditionally admitted to take up to 12 credits at York University while they pursue their current program. Students who have completed all 1st semester courses with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) and are enrolled in 2nd semester courses of the General Arts and Science Diploma Program may also be conditionally admitted. Students must also meet any additional program or degree specific admission requirements to be considered for admission at York University.

Graduates from the General Arts and Science Diploma Program at Humber College with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) and who have met any additional program or degree specific admission requirements, will be granted a block of 45 credits when entering any Bachelor level program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Science at York University. Graduates applying to other Faculties at York may also be granted a block of 45 transfer credits. Graduates that have taken York University courses while completing their Humber program may earn up to 57 credits before registering full time at York University.

Depending on the electives chosen in the General Arts and Science Diploma program at Humber College and the desired program at York University, a student may need to complete more than the minimum of 75 credits toward a total of 120 credits required to graduate from York University.

Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree in Theatre (Acting) with Humber

Graduates of Humber's Theatre Performance Advanced Diploma with a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) will be eligible for admission consideration and granted 60 transfer credits into the Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree in Theatre (Acting). Graduates of Humber's Theatre Performance Advanced Diploma prior to 2014 are not eligible for this agreement. Students who have graduated in the past three years from the Theatre Arts – Performance Diploma Program of Humber College may be considered for admission for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Honours Degree program. York University reserves the right to refuse candidates who have graduated from the Theatre Arts- Performance Diploma Program of Humber College prior to 2014.

To be admitted, students must be recommended by the Director of the Theatre Performance Program at Humber, and must also successfully complete an interview/evaluation conducted by a faculty member of the Department of Theatre to determine admittance to the program. Continuation in and graduation from the program will require that students achieve overall and major GPAs of at least 5.0 (C+) on the work completed at York University.

Graduates of the Theatre Arts – Performance Diploma Program of Humber College will be granted a block of 60 credits towards 120 required for an undergraduate honours degree at York University. Transferring students will be required to complete a minimum of 60 credits to receive their BFA degree.

York/Humber College Program in International Development Management Studies

York University students in the BES program may apply to the Program in International Project Management at Humber College at the beginning of their third year of studies, and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 5.0 (C+). Upon successful completion of the joint program, students receive an Honours BES Degree and a certificate in International Project Management. Students who intend to pursue this option must declare Environmental Politics as their Area of Concentration and must fulfil those requirements.

Creative Photography

Graduates of the Creative Photography Diploma Program of Humber College with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) will be eligible for admission consideration to be enrolled in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Honours program and granted a block of 51 transfer credits under this agreement. Therefore, transferring students will be required to complete a minimum of 69 credits to receive their BFA degree. Applicants must also attend an entrance portfolio review conducted by a faculty member of the Department of Visual Art and Art History and be deemed successful, to be admitted to the BFA Honours program.

Students must earn a minimum 120 credits to complete an Honours degree at York University and depending on the course waivers and the degree program chosen, a student may be required to complete more than 120 credits to graduate.
