Program focus is a unique combination of theory and practice. The MA option offers studies in Cinema & Medial Studies; the MFA option offers studies in Screenwriting and Production.
Our professors and staff are active participants in the Canadian and international worlds of movie-making and film studies. Together with our students, we are an integral part of the Toronto film community.
During first term, you may take courses in all three streams: Production, Screenwriting, Cinema & Media Studies.
York’s Sound & Moving Images Library (SMIL) — one of the largest collections of films, videos and DVDs in the country– is an invaluable resource for all film students.
