This program is of interest to students with strong quantitative backgrounds in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, science and engineering.

The Financial Engineering Program is a Collaborative Program established in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts' Department of Mathematics and the Schulich School of Business.  There are two different versions of this program:

Stand Alone diploma – Schulich School of Business

For MBA students, the Financial Engineering Program is available as a concentration or as a diploma. Students who fulfill the degree requirements of their Graduate program as well as the requirements for the Financial Engineering Diploma are eligible for a Graduate Diploma in Financial Engineering (G.Dip.F.E.).

The stand alone Graduate Diploma in Financial Engineering will be open to students that have fulfilled certain requirements but are not currently graduate students at York University.

The scheduling of the courses will be done in order to facilitate full-time employment with minimal time off work while in this part-time program. As such, the diploma offers a unique opportunity for graduates with relevant degrees to combine prior quantitative training with the Schulich advantage.

Students interested in applying to this diploma program should contact the Schulich School of Business.

Concurrent diploma – Department of Mathematics & Statistics

The Financial Engineering diploma (concurrent), is offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Students must first apply and be accepted to the regular Master of Arts or Doctoral program in Mathematics and Statistics. After being accepted to the program, students submit a separate application for the diploma.
