Articulation Agreements and Programs with Sheridan College

General Arts and Science Program at Sheridan College

Students of the General Arts and Science Program at Sheridan College, who have completed all 1st and 2nd semester courses of the program with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%), may be conditionally admitted to take up to 12 credits at York University while they pursue their current program. Students who have completed all 1st semester courses with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) and are enrolled in 2nd semester courses of the General Arts and Science Program may also be conditionally admitted. Students must also meet any additional program or degree specific admission requirements to be considered for admission at York University.

Graduates from the General Arts and Science Program at Sheridan College with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) and who have met any additional program or degree specific admission requirements, will be granted a block of 45 credits when entering any Bachelor level program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Science at York University. Graduates applying to other Faculties at York may also be granted a block of 45 transfer credits. Graduates that have taken York University courses while completing their Sheridan program may earn up to 57 credits before registering full time at York University.

Depending on the electives chosen in the General Arts and Science program at Sheridan College and the desired program at York University, a student may need to complete more than the minimum of 75 credits toward a total of 120 credits required to graduate from York University.

Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Film (Cinema and Media Studies) with Sheridan

Graduates of Sheridan’s Media Arts Advanced Diploma with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) will be eligible for admission consideration, and granted 60 transfer credits under this agreement.  Students may apply to the Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Film (Cinema and Media Studies).

As part of the admission process, the York University Department of Film Program Coordinator may request an interview and/or a portfolio of the applicant’s work. 

The Joint Program is a consecutive program not open to students with a time gap since they graduated from Sheridan.

Pre-health Sciences Certificate to Faculty of Health Bachelor Honours Degrees

Graduates of Sheridan’s Pre-Health Sciences Certificate with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B or 70%) will be eligible for admission consideration, and granted 18 transfer credits under this agreement. Graduates of the Pre-Health Sciences Certificate will be admitted, provided they meet the terms of this agreement, to York University to be enrolled in Honours degree programs in the Faculty of Health of York University, or other degree programs for which they meet the admission requirements.

Students applying to the BA or BSc in Kinesiology and Health Science, the BA or BSc in Global Health and the BSc in Psychology will be considered to have met the Physics admission requirement (SPH4U) provided they successfully complete all course requirements with a minimum 60% (C).

For admission to these programs, students must present the following prerequisites: Math12U or equivalent. Note: students who are admitted to the Faculty of Health who lack the mathematics admission requirement are required to take MATH 1510 3.00 (or equivalent) within the first 12 months.
