There are two ways to apply to undergraduate study at York – choose the one that best applies to your circumstances.

Use this application if:
  • You want to apply to degree studies for any session except as listed below (Ontario high-school students should see their guidance office).
  • You're a mature or university/college applicant (if you're applying to more than one university).

Apply through OUAC

OUAC Application fees

Note: Applicants for the following programs offered by the School of Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD) can only apply through OUAC and will be required to pay a $ 20 supplementary application fee as part of their OUAC application: Cinema and Media Arts – Production (BFA); Cinema and Media Arts -Screenwriting(BFA); Dance (BFA); Design (BDes); Music (BFA); Visual Arts- Studio (BFA)

  • You are a mature, international or university/college transfer applicant (if you're only applying to York), OR
  • You want to take courses as a Visiting Student, OR
  • You want to apply to a certificate, OR
  • You are currently taking a York pre-University/"Bridging" course or YUELI course

* The processing of your application will be stopped if your credit card is refused. If you have fees outstanding with the University, we will not process your application until these fees are cleared.


After you apply

After submitting your application you will receive an acknowledgment e-mail from York University, providing you with a York reference number that allows you to track the progress of your application and submit required supporting documents in MyFile. It is your responsibility to ensure York receives all the required supporting documentation and that it is received before the deadline date. If you have not received a reference number within 4-5 business days of submitting your application, please check your spam and junk folders. If you are unable to locate the e-mail, contact study@yorku.ca.

The Student Recruitment & Admissions Office, York University, sends official communication about application and admission via email. It is important that you open, read and take action (if required) upon receipt of an email.

  • It may take 4-6 weeks to process your application.
  • The processing period begins after all documents related to your application are received. Supporting documentation such as transcripts, course descriptions and language proficiency test scores (if applicable) must be sent directly to the Office of Admissions at York University.
  • If any required document is not received, your application will not be processed.
