Political Science @ Glendon

The Political Science department on the Glendon campus offers a wide range of courses.

It's also small enough for individual students to find a supportive community of scholars. We leverage our location close to national, provincial and local governments, as well as to the Glendon School of Public & International Affairs, Canada’s first bilingual graduate school of its kind.

York's Political Science students gain real-world experience as volunteers and interns, and they can travel abroad to study.

Political Science is the study of power, authority and governance in human affairs. Our courses examine the social, economic, cultural, historical, geographical and other forces that generate conflicts (and provide solutions) both within and among societies. With a degree in Political Science you will develop competency in critical debate, and use your analytical and research skills to evaluate competing points of view and theories.

A Fully Bilingual Program

Glendon is the only fully bilingual Faculty of its kind in Canada.

York's Glendon Campus is known for its focus on public and international affairs. Students get the added benefit of language certification in English and French, regardless of your level when you begin your studies. Many students study a third language as well.

Internationalize Your Degree

Offered at the Glendon Campus, an International Bachelor of Arts (iBA) degree program reflects York's commitment to internationalization and requires you to acquire an international language and to gain international experience on exchange at one of York University's partner institutions abroad.
