Global Geography

As part of the new Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change at York University, this program centres on identifying solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. By combining approaches from liberal arts and physical sciences, the Global Geography program prepares you with the fundamental knowledge, critical thinking skills, hands-on experience, and global perspectives necessary to make positive change.

Students benefit from internship opportunities, field- and lab-based exercises, and optional global experiences at York University’s Las Nubes EcoCampus. You will acquire technical know-how and experience to address societal and environmental issues. Become a changemaker for a just and sustainable future.

Global Geography

Global Geography is about knowing your world and how it works, from the largest cities to the most remote environments. We apply ways of thinking that bring together the arts and sciences to find solutions to real world problems.

As a Global Geography student at York University, you will acquire technical know-how and experience in geographical information systems, data analysis, research methods, and field techniques, while also enhancing your communication, reasoning and leadership skills to bring positive change to your community and the world around you.
