Translation

Language is power. Choose Translation at Glendon to explore the relationship between language and culture and master your craft in real-time in a diverse, bilingual+ campus. Learn from faculty members who are experts in their field in small classes of up to 25 students, and put the theoretical knowledge you learn in the classroom to the test with an internship for credit in the private or public sector to kick-start your career. Unique in Southern Ontario, our program addresses a significant shortage of English and French translators in Canada. Our graduates work for translation firms, the Government of Canada, law firms, banks, publishing houses, and more. They also have careers in editing, writing, and teaching. As a Translation student, you’ll obtain a free membership to the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario with access to all its services, job postings, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Testimonial
My experience studying English as an International Language at Glendon laid the foundation for my ongoing professional work writing and conducting research. The program also helped me begin to understand the importance of global citizenry as well as taught me the value of challenging assumed constraints in order to conduct respectful research and teaching within diverse contexts.
