Advanced Placement
York offers transfer credit for completed Advanced Placement courses. Check the requirements below to match your situation:
- Applicants from Canadian schools
- Applicants with an International Baccalaureate Diploma
- Applicants from the United States
- Applicants with a Baccalaureate Français
- Applicants with GCE/CAPE
Applicants from Canadian schools
Up to 30 credits (5 full courses) may be granted for final scores of 4 or 5 on the College Entrance Examination Board Advanced Placement (AP) Exams, depending on program.
You could qualify for early conditional admission based on first semester final grades or mid-term grades for full-year courses. Have your school email these grades to study@yorku.ca as soon as possible. Official final year-end results must be sent to us as soon as they become available.
Applicants with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
We may grant a maximum of 30 credits (5 full courses) for Higher Level IB courses with grades of 5 or better, depending on program.
Applicants from the United States
Up to 30 credits (5 full courses) may be granted for final scores of 4 or 5 on the College Entrance Examination Board Advanced Placement (AP) Exams, depending on program.
Applicants with a Baccalaureate Français
Up to 30 credits (5 full courses) may be granted for final scores of 12 or better, depending on program.
Applicants with GCE/CAPE
GCE: Up to 18 credits (3 full courses) may be granted for final grades of "C" or better, depending on program.
CAPE: Up to 18 credits (3 full courses) may be granted for courses passed at the 2-unit level with grades of 1, 2 or 3, depending on the program.
