Digital Technologies

Lassonde School of Engineering

Imagine earning a full-time salary as part of a four-year job with a portion of your work time allocated to study for a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Digital Technologies degree at York University. This program has been designed with companies like Ernst & Young, IBM, RBC, and Shopify to provide a combination of both work-based and academic experiences that will give you a competitive edge upon graduation.

There’s an exciting, rewarding world that awaits Digital Technologies degree graduates! They’re creators designing, developing, analyzing, and maintaining a wide range of digital solutions that make our lives easier and the world a better place. These software developers, cyber security analysts, and data scientists are making an impact and helping tackle the world’s greatest challenges.

What You’ll Learn

This program empowers you to graduate with both quality work experience and an internationally recognized, quality assured degree qualification. With the digital skills, knowledge and experience for which employers are looking, you’ll be well positioned to take abstract ideas and seemingly impossible problems and create practical solutions. You’ll have what it takes to design things that have never been made – things that make our lives and the world better. Digital technology specialists are making an impact and helping tackle the world’s greatest challenges.

80% of the program is experiential, starting from day one. You’ll spend 20% of your contracted working hours in training. That’s approximately 12 hours per week. This could be in the form of day release or block release to attend classes at York University’s new Markham Campus, or as time to study online. The program operates fully over a calendar year and takes four years to complete. Your weekly theoretical and academic learning can be immediately applied on the job. The experiential learning is second to none.
