About the Program
Explore the ancient world and discover how the past continues to shape our lives today. In the Ancient World Studies stream, you'll explore various ancient civilizations, with a focus on Greece and Rome, while developing critical thinking and analytical skills to better understand historical and contemporary issues.
Study topics ranging from the Trojan War to the fall of the Roman Empire, and explore politics, warfare, religion, mythology, sport and everyday life. Learn about influential figures such as Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra alongside the experiences of ordinary people.
Study Greek and Roman mythology, literature, philosophy, archaeology, art and ancient languages, examining how ancient stories and ideas continue to influence modern culture, film and society. Expand your perspective beyond Greece and Rome by exploring ancient civilizations in Egypt, the Near East and early North America.
