Speech and Language Sciences

Pursue Undergraduate Program in

Speech and Language Sciences

This new program provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the field of linguistics and its relation to speech and language sciences and language disorders.

The program also functions as a pre-professional preparatory program for students who intend to pursue graduate work in speech-language pathology or audiology. Our program is just the third of its kind offered in Canada.

We offer a comprehensive and engaging program of study with an emphasis on

  • the field of speech-language pathology
  • diagnosis and treatment of speech and language and communication disorders
  • the development of skills and methods necessary to analyze speech and linguistic data
  • the development of skills that are crucial to understanding and evaluating research findings in the area of speech and language sciences

Our overall goal is to provide students with foundational training in linguistics, while also investigating the connections between the theoretical study of language and its clinical applications. Interested in how language is learned or how experts evaluate and treat language disorders? Our program will allow you to develop an understanding of speech and language sciences and to appreciate the extraordinary work happening in the field right now.

Our faculty members have national and international reputations for scholarship, engaged advocacy and excellence in teaching.
