How to Apply
We look forward to receiving your application and supporting you throughout the admission process!
If you are interested in applying to an undergraduate program at York University, follow the steps outlined below to get started.
Apply to an Undergraduate Program
1. Decide which program you're interested in
Use our Program Search to explore a variety of degree options with innovative course design and hands-on learning opportunities. Once you have selected your program(s) of interest, take note of details including how and when it is offered, career paths it may provide, and the courses you can expect to take.
2. Review Admission Requirements
York University has a set of general admission requirements for entry to any of our programs. In addition to these requirements, your program of interest may require additional prerequisite courses, minimum grades and/or a supplementary application component like a video interview, audition or portfolio review. Be sure to familiarize yourself with all admission requirements before you apply.
3. Submit your application
Submit your application through:
- the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) application, or
- the York University application.
Ensure that you apply by the application deadline. Once received, we will contact you via e-mail and grant you access to view updates about your application using our online platform, MyFile.
4. Submit Required Documents
Once you receive access to your MyFile account, you can submit and/or upload required documents to our system. These may include official transcripts, language proficiency requirements, a supplementary application and course descriptions to be assessed for transfer credit.
Review tuition fees and costs
It's important to review the expected costs for your first year of university so that you can plan and budget. Tuition fees are based on the number of credits in which you are enrolled and your status as a domestic or international student. Other costs typically include residence, meal plan, textbooks and supplementary student fees.
Proof of Language Proficiency
Programs at Keele Campus are offered in English, while programs at our Glendon Campus are offered in a bilingual environment (English and French). To gain admission, you must demonstrate language proficiency in your program's language of instruction by presenting a minimum proficiency score on an accepted language test.
